About Me

Don lives in Niantic but is moving to our new home in Danbury, only 1/4 mile from Bethel.  He is 72 and I am 66.  He lost his wife 2 years ago after almost 50 yrs of marriage.  I was married for 28 yrs. and have been divorced for 17 yrs.  I have never been close to getting married again and thought I did not want to until I met Don.  We fell in love very quickly, are both absolutely sure and have no apprehensions.  He was reared Catholic and does practice to some extent, I am not religious, and suppose I am agnostic.  We are both okay with each others spiritual life and think very much alike on most other things.  We just have fun when we are together.

I was born and reared near Houston, Texas.  We traveled with my husbands work for many years, then I taught Amer. Govt/Economics at a college prep high school for 12 years.  I have one daughter and grandson (6).  After my divorce, I moved to KY to work for my brother, who was a trainer at Churchill Downs, running his business.  I worked for him for 11 years and then he retired and moved back to Houston.  I decided to move closer to my daughter and grandson, as she was divorced.  My grandson and I have a very close relationship and he spends most every other weekend at my house.  He and Don get along great.  Don has 3 grandchildren and 2 children.  They all live in Niantic and have a close relationship with him.

We are so ready to spend the rest of our lives together and cannot wait to get married.  The ceremony will be at our new home together with mostly just immediate family and a very few close friends.  We would like to choose our vows (something contemporary) and I would like to say something on my own, without telling Don, as he has said he would not be able to do so-he is a very tender man
